About Me

I’m an IT professional with 6 years of experience in the industry. My career began as an IT Field Engineer for a small MSP teaching me priceless foundational IT knowledge. Since then, I have moved to management where I manage a team of IT Field Engineers for a large commercial general contracting firm. From the start of my career I’ve grown the most in my networking, project management, and leadership skills. I now spend my time continuing education in networking, cloud, automation, and programming.

Work Experience

Southeast IT Field Engineer Lead - DPR Construction
Nov 2020 - Present

I worked as an IT Field Engineer for 2 years before being promoted to management. Since Nov of 2022 I’ve managed a team of 6-8 IT Field Engineers in the Southeast region of the US.

  • Oversee a team of (6-8) IT Field Engineers responsible for office and jobsite network infrastructure mobilizations.
  • Provide technical consultation of layer one network design requirements to construction project teams via mark-up drawing sets using BlueBeam Revu.
  • Oversee the procurement, deployment and maintainance of wired and wireless networks using Cisco Meraki.
  • Maintain site and procedural documentation using SharePoint and internal applications.
  • Track resource performance to ensure service levels are met or exceeded.
  • Conduct biweekly check-ins with direct reports, track metrics, set objectives and expectations, and hold responsability.
  • Write and conduct annual review discussions with direct reports.
  • Coordinate with other IT leaders to ensure team objectives algin with greater strategic goals.

IT Field Engineer - Medicus IT

I worked as an IT Field Engineer for more than one year at Medicus IT.

  • Receive, triage, and resolve priority tickets and monitoring alerts via ConncetWise Manage/Automate.
  • Implement VLAN solutions to segment Voice, Data, and Guest WLAN traffic.
  • Create and maintain relevant documentation using IT Glue.
  • Install and configure local and off-site data backup solutions using Datto technologies.
  • Design and Implement network topologies for new client sites and extend connectivity using both ISP-WAN circuits and Site-to-site VPN tunnels.
